Any ideas about what I should do? I do have permission for the "backup" folder set to 777.

  2. I deleted the file .htaccess (deny from all) and now everything is back to normal. Don't I need this file?

  3. I just found out that .htaccess will recreate itself and shut down my blog. Is anyone here familiar with the backupwordpress plugin? What am I doing wrong?

  4. pjspjs, Your webserver must be properly configured to word with .htaccess files. Please try the whole thing within a save offline environment before use in a production system.
