I'm having the same problem. What can we do to fix this? Thanks. I'm running latest version of Wordpress 2.3.1 and backup 0.4.5.

I have tried everything and have the same issue. The backups are running and everything is working as it should but I cannot exclude any folders or files. I tried reading the tutorial about doing it but I did not have any luck. I tried relative paths from every directory and absolute paths from /home but no luck. I created a new backup preset and told it to use the exclusion list but that doesn't change anything. When I click show excluded files all it excludes is the backup folder it ignores whatever I have entered. Any help would be great as I think this backup application is awesome if I can just get it working.

Running latest version of Wordpress 2.3.1 and backup 0.4.5 as I said everything is running fine except the exclusion part. If I could just exclude the photos folder from being backed up it would shrink my backup by about 190 megs

I've just resorted to pulling down my wp directory via ftp and zipping it manually, and I have another plugin that emails me a tar of my database. Works for now.

I've got an equal issue: BackUpWordPress seems to ignore my exclude lists. I've tried relative and absolute paths, but "show exluded files" never excluded anything more then my backup folder and recalculate disk space includes my excluded paths, too.

I am using WordPress 2.3.1 and BackUpWordPress 0.4.5 on a server, hosted by provider.

When I click on the button to calculate the backup size, it gives me a result of about 54 mb. However, when I run the backup, I get a 700 mb file. I think this is because it's backing up everything in my public_html directory, not just my wordpress stuff. I have about 5 sites that I host on the same server, and the plugin is backing them all up into the same file. I've tried exclusions using relative and absolute references, but it doesn't seem to help.

My directory structure is like this:

/me/public_html <--main site
/me/public_html/site2
/me/public_html/site3
/me/public_html/site4
/me/public_html/site5
