BackupWordpress was attempting to write to a file. I CHMOD to 644 and it worked fine. If you have the permissions to do so, you'll be able to delete them afterwards.<br /> However there should not be directories left within your backup repository, BackUpWordPress deletes them after creating an archive. I've done some tests with long file names. Usually it is limited only by the operating system which tar is running on. Some configurations and version of tar limit filename length to 100 characters though.</p> <p>It depends on the system of the webserver, where most WordPress and BackUpWordPress users do not have the permissions to change any of these configuration settings. But it is very unusual for any web content to include files with filenames longer than 100 characters. </p>
