Thanks for your answer. I am quite satisfied with your backup solution. The problem is that I get multiple backups (more than one for the same day) even when I have set one daily SQL backup. I guess that this happens because mutiple users trigger wp-cron at the same time. The backup process takes quite some time, because the backup itself is about 30 MB. Is there any way to resolve this?

I recommend: disable the cron tasks, disable the plugin, uninstall the plugin, reinstall the new version, activate schedules again. You can leave your backup archives within you backup repository.

adirex, If you are able to utilize linux cron, you'll probably able to set a up much more versatile solution than BackUpWordPress. I myself use rdiff-backup which is based on rsynch. This way I can run backups incremental.

I haven't looked through all the backupwordpress code just yet, so this may be unfounded. But is there any reason add_action('init'... is called outside of the wp-admin pages? I don't see any reason for things like bkpwp_security_check() to be called every time a non-admin page is loaded. This means that bkpwp_security_check() is writing the backup/.htaccess file every page load, which is a bit excessive.

From what I can see (and tested personally), a quick check before calling the add_action('init', like the below (not compatible with IIS), is much more reasonable.

if(strpos($_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'], '/wp-admin/') !== false) {

i am actually having the very same issues- while my whole site including all images is less than 50mg- my backups come out to 140mgs! after inspecting them i am getting doubles and triplicates of everyhting.
i have tried deleting the plugin, deleting its respective mysql tables and reinstalling. that doesn't fix it.
i can say though that the problems started after i moved to the new server.
i will look into the difference between the old and new.

Hi,

Backupwordpress is running automatically (weekly), even though schedules are disabled.

It is doing a full weekly backup, and again, all scheduled backups are DISABLED.

Please advise...

Hi Rol -

Seems like I've got the same issue as well. I'll be the first to admit, I'm no code guru, but the problems described above sound similar to ones that I'm having now. I'm able to make a sql backup, but a full backup seems to just hang for ever. I've also tried uninstalling, deactivating all plugins, re-upping and running it again, but no luck.

I'm running the most recent version of backupwordpress, and wp 2.3.2.

I know I've got a few big files in my wordpress uploads folder, and I'm assuming it's a timeout error?

I've got both of the 'automatically backup' boxes ticked. Should I simply untick the full backup, and just manually download it via FTP once a week?

Thanks in Advance
